Valley Stream man Arrested After Threatening Woman with Shotgun, Caught with Multiple Illegal Firearms

The Fifth Squad reports the details of an arrest that occurred in Valley Stream. 
 
According to Detectives, Officers responded to a disturbance at a residential home. Upon arrival, Officers were notified about an argument that occurred between the subject and female victim, 44. The argument escalated and the subject grabbed a brown and black Stevens 320, 12-gauge shotgun and racked the shotgun back, placing the victim in fear. The shotgun was recovered and Defendant Tayarik Perez-Vargas, 42, of Liberty Boulevard was placed under arrest without incident. 
 
Subsequent to the investigation an illegal 9mm pistol ghost gun with two 10 round magazines was recovered. Detectives also recovered an illegal black Anderson AR-15 AM 15 assault rifle with a pistol grip, removeable magazine and extendable butt stock and an illegal Windham Weaponry AR-15, WW-15 assault rifle with a pistol grip, removable magazine and extendable butt stock, both which are in violation of the Safe Act. In addition, four legal firearms were removed from the residence and taken into police custody.
 
 
Defendant Tayarik Perez-Vargas is charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, Menacing in the 2nd Degree and Failure to Safely Store Firearms in the 1st Degree. He was arraigned at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
