Half Hollow Hills Students Earn Rare “Perfect” Scores on Advanced Placement Exams

Written by Chris Boyle  |  21. September 2022

Half Hollow Hills Central School District proudly celebrates High School East’s Colin Campbell and Alice Wang for earning perfect scores on college-level Advanced Placement® (AP®) Exams in spring 2022. They were among an elite group of students in the world to earn every point possible on an AP Exam, receiving the maximum score on each portion of the exam.

Campbell was one of only 306 students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Research Exam, and Wang was one of only 369 students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Computer Science A Exam.

“I am always impressed with the talent and dedication of our Half Hollow Hills AP teachers and students,” said Half Hollow Hills Superintendent Dr. Patrick Harrigan. “Alice and Colin’s perfect scores on their AP exams highlight why we are committed to offering Advanced Placement classes. These successes set them up for continued success in college.”

The Advanced Placement Program is committed to ensuring that students have access to the opportunities they have earned. Students who succeed in AP are not only more likely to succeed in college, but have the chance to save a significant amount of time and money by earning college credit or placement.

“AP courses and exams are college-level, requiring great focus and persistence among participating students,” said Trevor Packer, head of the Advanced Placement Program. “We applaud the educators who encourage students to challenge themselves, who motivate and encourage diverse students to achieve their academic potential.”

Colleges and universities around the world receive AP scores for college credit, advanced placement, and/or consideration in the admission process. To learn more about AP, please visit exploreap.org.
