Originally conceived in 2019 but postponed due to the pandemic, a skate park in Roberto Clemente Park in Brentwood is nearing completion. As of late August the Town of Islip touted the construction of what it called a “state-of-the-art skate park.”
“The plaza style skate park will include rails, ramps, steps and quarter pipes,” the town proclaimed.
According to a story in Patch, the town approved the change of zone in June needed to begin building. They also accepted $450,000 in grant funding from Dormitory Authority of the State of New York for the project.
