Reviewers are raving about a Jia Dim Sum, a spot that opened recently in Port Washington, saying that the town was in need of a place just like it. The fine-dining restaurant opened in July and has received rave reviews ever since.
The Dim Sum menu includes steamed versions like their Signature Crystal Shrimp Dumplings ($14), Snow Pea Leaf and Shrimp Crystal Dumplings ($14), Pork and Shrimp Shumai ($12), and Spicy XLB Shanghai Soup Dumplings ($16), all for four pieces.
The crispy Dim Sum includes Pork and Chive Potstickers ($12), Kashgar Cumin-Scented Lamb Potstickers ($12), Vegetable Potstickers ($12), four pieces each and three pieces of Mushroom & Veggie Spring Roll ($9), Crispy Taro-Wrapped Shrimp ($15), and Pan-Fried Beef Bun ($12).
Entrees include BOBO Farms Tea-smoked Crispy Chicken, a half chicken, 24-hour house-brine, and ginger scallion sauce ($29), Golden Packing Meat, a 16oz. bone-In strip steak with shishito peppers and jus ($52), amd Sweet & Sour Pork Belly, a classic Cantonese-style batter and sauce, peppers, and onions ($27).
According to its web page, the new upscale eatery is part of a restaurant group that includes New York City spots like Wan Wan, Kimika, and Wayla.
Jia Dim Sum is open for dinner every day from 5-10pm.
On Yelp, Dae Man Y, from New Jersey, gave it five stars.
“Went for dinner tonight with the family and one of the best restaurant experiences in Port Washington,” he wrote. “Great addition to the neighborhood.”
Avi D, from Manhattan, agreed.
“Simply incredible food. Rivals Red Farm in NYC (where the chef worked for 12 years), maybe even better,” he said. “Port so needed a place like this.”
