Not every new coffee shop is a Starbucks. A new spot opened up in Garden City called For Five Coffee Roasters and people are happy to see them in the village. This coffee chain has locations in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington DC, Virginia, Chicago, and even Athens, Greece.

Their first location on Long Island opened in 2017 in Manhasset. Garden City is the furthest east on the Island they have come as a retailer. It’s also their largest location yet.

For Five Coffee Roasters was launched by two friends from Queens. They originally sold roasted coffee wholesale to restaurants and shops but then began opening their own locations.

On Yelp, Bill S. gave the coffee shop five stars.

“What 7th Street in Garden City needed was For Five Coffee Roasters,” he wrote.

Bill was especially impressed with the menu, which went beyond coffee.

“I arrived about 11:45 and the place was packed out. I came for coffee but when I saw the menu, it came as a shock,” he said.

Others like For Five Coffee Roasters too but one common complaint was that the music is too loud inside.

Darya S said they have good drip coffee but the place was “as loud as a club.”

Heather E, from Woodbury, loved the atmosphere.

“My fiancée and I came here 4x within the first week of its opening,” she said. “This spot is so modernized with the most chill vibes.”
