Port Jefferson, NY - September 2013 - Legislator Sarah Anker joined Mather Hospital in celebrating its 17th Annual Victory Day on Saturday, September 21. The event took place at the hospital and featured inspirational stories told firsthand from breast cancer survivors, including keynote speaker and best-selling author Wendy S. Harpham, MD, who is a 23-year survivor of breast cancer.

“Victory Day creates a sense of community and reminds breast cancer survivors that they are not alone,” said Legislator Sarah Anker. “I commend Mather Hospital for working to increase breast cancer awareness and hosting such a positive event.”

All funds raised at the event are being donated to the Fortunato Breast Health Center at Mather Hospital.  For more information on the Center, call 631-476-2771.
