Marking the end of an era, the last full size Kmart department store in the United States - located here on Long Island in Bridgehampton - will be closing its doors for business in October.

It has been confirmed that the store will be closing on October 20, and sales to move existing stock from shelves are already underway. With discounts as much as 40% off of clothing and footwear, and 20% off of other items, shoppers looking for a deal - or to simply experience a soon-to-be relic of America's retail past - are encouraged to go and check it out.

With the closing of the Bridgehampton location marking the end of the brand's full-sized retail facilities, the last remnant of the once-popular department chain - which numbered 2,486 locations at its peak in 1994 - will be a lone, smaller-sized store in Miami, Florida.
