AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Medford Man Arrested for 49 License Suspensions/Revocations

Suffolk County Police today arrested a Medford man after it was determined that his license had been suspended or revoked 49 times.

Medford, NY - September 25, 2014 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a Medford man after it was determined that his license had been suspended or revoked 49 times.

Fifth Precinct Patrol Officer Paul Rocchio was on patrol in Medford when he observed the driver of a 2007 Chrysler, John Auteri, fail to signal when he turned into the parking lot of 580 Route 112 at 9:55 a.m.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that Auteri’s license had been suspended or revoked 49 times on at least 20 different dates dating back to 1986.  

Auteri, 48, of Pitchpine Place, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree. He will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on September 26.
