AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. NCPD reports the arrest of Vincent Flowers of Roosevelt, 60, for Assault that occurred on Sunday, September 24, in East Meadow.

East Meadow, NY - September 25, 2017 - The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for Assault that occurred on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 6:56 pm in East Meadow.
 
According to detectives, Vincent Flowers, 60, was arrested for Obstructing Governmental Administration by Freeport Village Police Department. Flowers was Transported to a local hospital for treatment to a laceration on the back of his head. While at the hospital, the defendant became combative and had to be subdued by Freeport Police, hospital staff and a Nassau County Police Medic. During the struggle, Flowers grabbed the police medic by his shirt collar in a twisting motion.
 
The Nassau County Police Medic suffered injuries to his neck, back and left arm. He was treated and released from the hospital.
 
Defendant Flowers is additionally charged with Assault 2nd degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
