Man Arrested for Posession of 6 Pounds of Marijuana
South Hempstead, NY - September 30, 2013 - The CIRRT task force reports the details of an arrest for criminal possession of Marijuana that occurred in South Hempstead on Sunday, 09/29/13 at 8:30 P.M.
According to detectives, while on burglary patrol, observed Jonathan Moreno, 24, of 567 Stratford Rd. looking into a 2005 Toyota parked in front of his residence. The defendant stated that he owned the vehicle and told the detectives that they could accompany him inside his residence to retrieve identification and show proof that he owned the vehicle. Upon entering, the detectives detected a strong odor of Marijuana and observed in plain view a digital scale, heat sealer, a Marijuana pipe, and a plastic bag containing Marijuana. Further investigation led to the recovery of six pounds of Marijuana, a money counter and $26,915 in cash.
Moreno is being charged with Criminal Possession Marijuana 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Monday, 09/30/13 in First District Court, Hempstead.
