Man Runs $600 Bait-and-Switch Scam on Farmingville Supermarket Worker, According to Police

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who stole from a Farmingville store in July.
 
A man attempted to purchase a $1,000 money order from Stop & Shop, located at 2350 North Ocean Avenue, and handed the cashier the cash. He then switched the money he gave to the cashier and only paid $400 for the money order and left the store.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
