All over Long Island this October there are events and fundraisers to help support breast cancer research and treatment as well as celebrating survivors.Here are just a fee events for you to join in the cause to help women in need today.

Paint Port Pink is a month-long outreach by the Fortunato Breast Health Center at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson with the mission of raising awareness about breast cancer, sharing information and education and fostering solidarity in the community.

Businesses along Main Street from East Islip to Babylon are decorated in bright pink in honor of this year’s first Pink by the Bay, raising awareness for breast cancer all month long.
Pink Flags of October Celebration
Sunday, 10/6
Help the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition support October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month by participating in an extraordinary event! This is your opportunity to celebrate “in honor of” or “in memory of” your family and friends whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. Hundreds of PINK FLAGS will be placed at the entrance of Good Samaritan Hospital and the new Cancer Institute waving for the entire month of October.

This 4K/6K Walk for Beauty and Hercules on the Harbor 10K raise money for breast cancer research at Stony Brook Medicine. Walkers stroll along downtown Stony Brook. A pet costume contest will be held. The Stony Brook Cancer Center Mobile Mammography will be on site.
Hope Runs Here 5-Mile Run to Fight Breast Cancer

A 5-mile run and a 3-mile walk to benefit the LI2Day Breast Cancer Walk, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to raising funds to support local Long Island breast cancer coalitions and Islip Breast Cancer Coalition.
RTR for a Cure's 10th Motorcycle Run for Breast Cancer

A two-part event including a scenic police-escorted motorcycle run from Queens to Long Island and an after-party featuring live music, food, raffles, prizes, vendors, and competitions with trophies. All proceeds go to Rocking the Road for a Cure, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides free in home wellness programs and support services to people who are going through the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
