Queens Man Arrested After Allegedly Stealing from Two Vehicles from Freeport Dealership

The First Squad reports on the arrest of a Queens man for multiple Grand Larcenies that occurred between Friday, October 14, 2022 and Wednesday November 2, 2022 in Freeport.
 
According to Detectives, defendant Andrew Ponton, of 21428 113 Avenue, Queens Village, did unlawfully enter the Carmart Auto Group lot, located at 497 North Main Street and removed a 2017 White Ford Explorer from the premise. On Wednesday, November 2, 2022 defendant Andrew Ponton returned to the same location and during the night did remove a 2018 grey Dodge Durango and a 2018 grey Toyota Rav4. 
 
On Monday, October 2, 2023, defendant Andrew Ponton was arrested by the NYPD for a Grand Larceny incident that occurred in New York City, and after being processed for his arrest, was rearrested by First Squad Detectives for the above listed Grand Larcenies.
 
Defendant Andrew Ponton is charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd degree, four counts of Grand Larceny 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and three counts of Grand Larceny 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
