Power Women's Conference at Hofstra Featuring Former Deputy Press Secretary to Pres. Bill Clinton & Press Secretary to Hillary Clinton as Keynote
Hempstead, NY - October 8th, 2013 - The Lacrosse Business Network (LBN), the premier networking group for facilitating business for executives and business owners sharing a connection to the game of lacrosse, will host The Power Women’s Conference on October 10, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Hofstra University. Exploring the how and why sports are relevant and paramount for succeeding within today’s business community is Keynote Speaker Lisa Caputo, former Deputy Press Secretary to President Bill Clinton and Former Press Secretary to Hillary Clinton, who is currently Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications for The Travelers Companies, Inc. and is a former Brown University lacrosse player.
Dave Kotowski, CEO and Founder of The Lacrosse Business Network, said, “Lacrosse has had a significant impact on my life and the lives of many. The game has taught me a great deal about myself and I have received so much from the sport. The LBN was established to help members grow their businesses and create career opportunities through our network. At the fall kickoff event, we will have Lisa Caputo as our keynote speaker. She will be sharing her views on how to connect what is learned in competitive sports with having a fulfilling and successful career in business.”
“The Power Women’s Conference is focused on two demographics: Professional Women – Executives and Business Owners and Female Lacrosse Players in high school and college. We want both of these groups to have the opportunity to hear from a leading expert about what it takes for women to be successful today. As the father of three girls it is clear we need more events like this where women can empower one another to be the best they can be both on and off the field,” Kotowski added.
Caputo, who played field hockey and lacrosse at Brown University and received the 2011 NCAA Silver Anniversary Student Athlete Award, remarked, “Being a student-athlete teaches you a lot about discipline, how to budget your time, the lessons of teamwork and communication, and other just incredible life lessons. Those lessons you learn on the field not only apply in but outside of the classroom and post-Brown in the workplace. Being a student-athlete has definitely made me a better businessperson and a better business executive.”
Prior to Caputo’s outstanding career in business, she spent over a decade working in the public sector. She served as Deputy Assistant to President Bill Clinton and as Press Secretary to First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. She was also recognized in 2010 for her many business-related accomplishments.
In addition to Ms. Caputo keynote speech, attendees will have the opportunity to network among one another. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online by clicking here.
