The Nassau County Police Department Homicide Squad announced that an arrest has been made in connection with a Homicide that originally occurred on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 8:39 p.m. in Hempstead.
According to Detectives, officers responded to a 911 call for an aided at a Botsford Street residence. Upon arrival, Officers located Brenda Guadalupe Alfaro-Alcantara, 29, of Hempstead in the basement of the home with multiple stab wounds. Alfaro-Alcantara was pronounced at scene.
After an investigation, the Homicide Squad reports the arrest of Jose W. Funes-Zabala, 43, of 81 West Clinton Avenue, Roosevelt.
Funes-Zabala is charged with Murder 2nd degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was arraigned on Monday, October 7, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
