AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Three People Arrested for Selling Alcohol to a Minor

Suffolk County police arrested three people after they were caught selling alcohol to a minor in Coram and Middle Island yesterday.

Coram, NY - October 9th, 2014 - Suffolk County police arrested three people after they were caught selling alcohol to a minor in Coram and Middle Island yesterday.

Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers conducted an investigation into the sale of alcohol to underage patrons at ten establishments and three were found to be in violation.

The following people were charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Minor 1st Degree:

  • Mohammed Harun, 46, employed by Shell Gas, 809 Route 25, Middle Island
  • Ali Orhan, 21, employed by BP Gas, 366 Route 25, Coram
  • Saner Uzelgock, 26, employed by Gascon, 443 Route 25, Coram

Harun, of Middle Island, Orhan, of Shirley, and Uzelgock, of Coram, were issued a Field Appearance Ticket and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
