AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. The Seventh Squad reports the details of a Robbery which occurred on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 11:25 P.M. in Massapequa Park.

Massapequa Park, NY - October 9th, 2014 - The Seventh Squad reports the details of a Robbery which occurred on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 11:25 P.M. in Massapequa Park.

According to detectives, a male victim, 26, exited the rear door of his place of employment, Smokin’ Al’s, located at 4847 Merrick Road, when he was approached by two male blacks in the back alley.  Both suspects were wearing dark clothing, gloves and ski masks.  One of the suspects displayed a handgun and they took the victims backpack and iPad along with $20 cash.  The suspects fled northbound on Park Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.
