AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT MONDAY The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam. from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The Air Quality Index, or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Jonathan A. Graff, 17, of Queens, NY, has been identified as the man who was shot to death in Bay Shore yesterday afternoon. Homicide detectives are continuing the investigation.

Update - October 12th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are seeking the public's help in the investigation of the shooting death of Jonathan A. Graff on October 10. Graff, 17, of Queens, was last seen in Jamaica, Queens, on October 9. Graff was wearing dark blue jeans, a black hooded-sweatshirt, a baseball hat and black sneakers.

Anyone with information on the case or who may have seen Graff before the shooting is asked to call Homicide Squad detectives at 631-852-6392 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Bay Shore, NY - October 10th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man whose body was found in Bay Shore yesterday afternoon.
 
A man who was walking his dog in Spur Drive Park discovered a body at approximately 4:15 p.m.  The body was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed.
 
The incident is being investigated as a homicide. The man’s identity is unknown at this time.
 
Detectives are asking anyone who may have information about this incident to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
