Mount Sinai, NY - October 11, 2018 - On Monday, September 24th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Veterans of Foreign Wars Rocky Point Post #6249 11th Annual Wounded Warrior Golf Outing at the Willow Creek Country Club in Mount Sinai. This year’s outing was held in honor of N.Y. Air National Guardsman Technical Sergeant Dashan Briggs, who perished while serving in Iraq. Funds were raised to help his family and to support the Joseph P. Dwyer PTSD Peer to Peer Network. Remaining funds will go towards the VFW’s new local veterans program which will be named in honor of Sergeant Johnathan Keller, who also made the ultimate sacrifice.

“Suffolk County has the largest veteran population in the state of New York,” said Legislator Anker. “As the daughter of  Navy veteran, I greatly appreciate the sacrifices our military give to ensure our everyday freedoms.”
