Saint, James, NY - October 12, 2016 - On Sunday, October 23rd , The Knox School invites the general public to attend its Annual Fall Regatta. This year, the Knox Halloween Bash will be a spook-tactular event filled with tricks and treats for the whole family. Rowers are expected to compete in fun Halloween t-shirts and costumes, and Halloween decorations will adorn the tents and concession stations.

Have you ever been to a regatta? The Knox School’s regattas are great family-friendly events that offer exciting athletic competitions, the ability to help load and unload crew boats, concessions, tasty barbeque, and free rowing simulations using our ergs (dry-land boats). Spectators will have a clear view of the races on our tall bleachers set up on the sprawling lawn of historic Houghton Hall. Guests are welcome to bring blankets and picnics.

“Knox is excited to have four great Long Island rowing programs join us at our Home Beside the Shore next Sunday! McGann Mercy, St. John the Baptist, Long Island Rowing and Huntington High School will join us for a very competitive fun-filled day on our beautiful campus. The first race will start at approximately 9 AM” – Walter Townes, Director of Athletics at The Knox School.

Rowing clubs from The Knox School, Huntington High School, Long Island Rowing Club, St. Johns the Baptist School, and McGann-Mercy High School will all be competing. The sprint race categories will include: Singles, Doubles, and Fours, at the Novice and Varsity levels. Families will also have a chance to meet coaches Monika Zdrojewska and Victoria Greco for an informational session about the sport of crew, and to learn how students from local high schools may join Knox’s crew team.

Head over to the sprawling waterfront campus to enjoy the fun and exciting athletic event. The Halloween Bash Regatta is free and open to the general public. On-site parking is also available at no charge. For more information about The Knox School’s crew team, please visit here.
