This Week's Adorable Adoptables- Meet Toba, Spartacus and Darryl
LI's Adorable Adoptables is a weekly column by Allison Matos, a lifelong Long Island resident who has been advocating animal adoption since 2012. Allison's weekly posts highlight local animals in need of adoption, and cover general animal welfare topics as well.
Look at this little bitty kitty who is such a sweetheart! Toba loves to play and is obsessed with snuggles. She is super adorable with her very beautiful markings and stunning cat eyes, and would just make the best lap cat ever! Toba is available for adoption at Last Hope Animal Rescue's satellite location located at Petsmart in Bellmore. For more information about Toba, check out her webpage.
Fairy "tails" can come true-if you're young at heart...which is exactly how volunteers describe Spartacus! This tall, handsome 10 month old Shepherd/yellow Lab mix was surrender to a Kentucky shelter and transferred to Last Hope in Wantagh. Already 49 pounds, “Spartacus” is a big puppy who plays well with most dogs, adores people, and would truly make a great best friend! For more information, check out his webpage.
Check out handsome guy Darryl! This sweet brindle and white cropped-eared boy was found as a stray, and brought to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter where he is playful playful with toys, knows the command “sit” but is generally nervous and really needs a home of his own. Upon arrival, it was noted that Darryl had limited vision in his right eye, and after sending him out to a specialist, it was determined that his eye needed to be removed. Due to his limited vision, Darryl is a little hand shy as well.
Darryl has a few special volunteer buddies at the shelter who are getting him ready for his forever home. They said he is housebroken, and knows all his commands. His favorite pastime is swimming in the pool in the summer! This stunning boy is going to need an experienced, patient owner to work on some uncomfortableness with people near his food. Darryl also seems interested but is nervous of other dogs, and during a dog test, only approached the other dog when they weren’t looking. Darryl is a sweet boy who just needs a chance, and needs it badly. Will you be his angel? Please call for more information: 516-785-5220 or come visit him at: 3320 Beltagh Avenue, Wantagh NY 11793
As always, thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt, never shop...pass it on!
