Two Suspects Busted in Roosevelt on Gun Charges, Multiple Traffic Violations
The First Squad reports the arrest of two individuals for an incident that occurred on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 8:53 PM in Roosevelt.
According to Detectives, First Precinct Gang Abatement Program Officers were patrolling an area known for gang and narcotics activity when they observed a gray 2020 Honda Civic four door sedan commit multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
The officers conducted a traffic stop and during the investigation located a defaced silver and black Taurus PT-22, .22 caliber handgun and five loose bullets from inside the vehicle.
The driver, Brandon Lane, 29, of 31 Wagner Avenue, Roosevelt, and the front seat passenger, Allah Shabazz, 55, of 147 Harley Circle, Cross, South Carolina were both placed under arrest.
Subsequent to the arrest Allah Shabazz was found to have an active full extradition warrant from the US Marshals Service. US Marshalls Officers were notified and are responding to extradite the defendant.
Both defendants are charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. Defendant Lane was also issued numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
They will be arraigned on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
