AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. NCPD Arrest Suspect for Burglarizing New Cassel Church

Third Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for burglary and trespassing that occurred in New Cassel on Sunday, 08/31/14 at 7:30 P.M. and Monday, 10/13/14 at 1:50 P.M., respectively.

New Cassel, NY - October 14th, 2014 - Third Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for burglary and trespassing that occurred in New Cassel on Sunday, 08/31/14 at 7:30 P.M. and Monday, 10/13/14 at 1:50 P.M., respectively.

According to detectives, Raleigh Maddox, 44, of Third Ave., New Cassel, entered Eglise Baptist Haiti Enne Church located at 859 Prospect Ave., by prying open the front door.  Once inside, the defendant removed audio/visual equipment valued at approximately $12,000.  On 10/13/14, the defendant entered a residence on Second Ave. by breaking the front door.  A witness notified police, who then found the defendant hiding in the home.  Maddox was placed under arrest at the scene and gave police a fictitious name.  Officers were later able to identify the defendant through fingerprinting.

Maddox is being charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree, False Personation and Violation of Parole.  He will be arraigned on Tuesday, 10/14/14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
