Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Central Islip on Saturday, October 12.
Hillary Day was walking on the westbound shoulder of the roadway in front of 31 W. Suffolk Ave. when she was struck by a westbound motor vehicle at approximately 9 p.m. The vehicle, believed to be a gold-colored sedan, continued traveling westbound without stopping.
Day, 66, of Central Islip, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries.
