Nassau County Police Dept: Man Arrested for Hempstead Robbery
Hempstead, NY - October 15th, 2013 - The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for a Robbery that occurred on Thursday September 12, 2013 in Hempstead.
According to detectives, the male victim, 18 went to meet an acquaintance in Hempstead at which time they drove to Brown Avenue where they met an additional group of individuals. After a short time the defendant Robin D. Ellis, 17 of 316 Baldwin Road along with two additional unidentified males forced the victim to the side of the house and pointed a silver revolver at him. They removed the victim’s car keys, wallet, and I-Phone. The subjects then fled in the victim’s 1999 BMW. Hempstead Police were notified and located the victim’s vehicle a short time later on Weir Street. There were no injuries reported. The investigation led detectives to the defendant Ellis who surrendered to the Third Squad on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 1:05 a.m. in Williston Park. The additional subjects have yet to be located. The investigation is ongoing.
Ellis is charged with Robbery 1st degree and Criminal use of a Firearm 1st degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
