AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. HSBC Bank in Hauppauge Robbed

Suffolk County Police detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at an HSBC bank branch in Hauppauge today.

Hauppauge, NY - October 17th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at an HSBC bank branch in Hauppauge today.

A man entered the bank, located at 660 Motor Parkway, approached a teller, and produced a note demanding cash.  The teller complied with the demand and gave the suspect cash from the drawer at approximately 2 p.m.  The man fled on foot east bound on Motor Parkway.

The robber is described as Hispanic, 25-35 years-old, approximately 5 feet one inch to 5 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build.  He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and a black and white striped baseball hat.
