Mexican restaurant with three locations on Long Island in Huntington, Roslyn and West Islip. Has received accolades for its guacamole and margaritas. Another restaurant in the Alex and Maria dynasty of Mexian restaurants! Opened in 1996, this was their second endeavor. Reviewers five it points for its authentic food and quaint atmosphere. 385 New York Ave., Huntington, (631) 547-1232.

Owners Alex and Maria wanted to bring authentic Mexican food to Long Island in the 1990s. After opening award-winning restaurants The lil Caboose and Oaxaca. This restaurant in Bay Shore puts its focus on Mexico City and Oaxacan style food. Main dining room features a live greenhouse, home to over 50 varieties of herbs, peppers and edible garnishes and are all used throughout the bar and kitchen programs.The restaurant was built and designed using mostly reclaimed materials such as old bar wood, barn roofs, recycled brick and repurposed tables and chairs. Serving lunch and dinner 7 days a week with brunch on Sundays from 11am-4pm. Translated to “little kitchen" they say their fare is traditional Mexican food reminiscent of the street food found in markets and taquerias throughout Mexico.
