Oceanside, NY - October 18, 2018 - Assemblywoman Melissa Miller (R,C,Ref-Atlantic Beach) was ecstatic to honor 11 local women from her district with her 2018 Women of Distinction Award on Sunday, October 7 at the Oceanside Library. In attendance were the Girl Scouts of Nassau County to lead the pledge of allegiance, present the colors during the flag ceremony and sing the National Anthem. Honorees were encouraged to invite guests and were provided with a light lunch while each were introduced by Miller.
“It is an honor in itself to have the opportunity to present these hard-working and devoted women with this year’s Women of Distinction Award,” said Miller. “Each honoree has displayed an extraordinary amount of passion and dedication to helping their community in their own way. I look forward to seeing what they bring to our neighborhoods for many years to come.”
Honorees include Diane Annarella, Island Park; Lenore Davis, Woodmere; Theresa Gaffney, East Rockaway; Rev. Dr. Delores Miller, Long Beach; Elizabeth Murdy, Lido Beach; Paris Popack, Lawrence; Pepper Robinson, Oceanside; Peggy Pogue Steiner, Point Lookout; Rebbetzin Rivkie Tenenboim, Hewlett; and Christina Tisi-Kramer, Long Beach.
