AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. The toll free number is 1 800 5 3 5, 1 3 4 5.

At the October 13 meeting, the William Floyd Board of Education recognized the organizers and volunteers of the William Floyd Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament.

Mastic Beach, NY - October 19, 2015 - At the October 13 meeting, the William Floyd Board of Education recognized the organizers and volunteers of the William Floyd Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament, Anthony Coraci, Anthony Alfano and Anthony Liberti of Century 21 Cor-Ace Realty and Ace Builders, Inc., as well as Tournament Coordinator and Board of Education Vice President Jeananne Dawson, whose efforts on this annual fundraiser have helped hundreds of William Floyd seniors with scholarships to pursue their educational dreams. This year, the tournament raised $25,000 in scholarships for the class of 2016 and since the event’s inception in 1997, the grand total has now surpassed $455,000! Anthony Coraci, pictured with Mrs. Dawson, accepted the plaque on behalf of himself, Mr. Alfano and Mr. Liberti.
