The First Squad reports the arrest of three men from the Bronx for Possession of Stolen Property that occurred in Roosevelt.
According to Detectives, Officers were patrolling the vicinity of Babylon Turnpike for suspected vehicles linked to recent catalytic converter thefts. Officers observed a grey Audi sedan crash into two parked vehicles on Lakeview Avenue in Freeport, the vehicle was later determined to have been stolen. Officers immediately rendered medical aid to three occupants of the vehicle who suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Audi matched descriptions from multiple complaints in recent catalytic converter thefts. Officers placed three occupants under arrest: Jose Reyes, 24, of 105 E. Clarke Place, Hector Otero, 22, of 170 Webster Avenue, and the driver Jesus Rodriguez Brito, 23, of 3312 Hull Avenue.

Defendant Reyes and Otero are charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, and Possession of Burglar Tools. They will be arraigned when medically practical.
Defendant Brito is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, and Possession of Burglar Tools. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
