Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - - Heavy rainfall results in the potential for flooding. While much of the flooding is expected to be localized, significant flooding is possible due to rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Suffolk Police Announce Road Closures in Connection with Catholic Health Services’ Marathon Oct. 22

Suffolk County Police are advising motorists of road closures due to the Sixth Annual Catholic Health Services’ Suffolk County Marathon on October 22.
 
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Babylon Long Island Rail Road Station. Runners will travel east along Montauk Highway then south over the Robert Moses Bridge to Captree State Park.
 
Runners will then return northbound over the bridge to eastbound Montauk Highway to Gardiner County Park in Bay Shore. The event is expected to run until approximately 12:30 p.m. 
 
Motorists are urged to find alternate routes.
