TRAVEL ADVISORY: Overnight Closures on Westbound Northern State Parkway in the Village of Westbury

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of overnight closures on the westbound Northern State Parkway between Exit 33 (Wantagh State Parkway) and Exit 31A (Meadowbrook State Parkway) in the Village of Westbury, Nassau County, beginning Monday, October 23, and lasting approximately five weeks to facilitate a pavement resurfacing project, weather permitting. One lane will be closed between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. and then all lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Motorists should follow the signed detours beginning at Exit 35N (State Routes 106/107) or at Exit 34 (Brush Hollow Road) for access to the westbound Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495).

Motorists are urged to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones.  Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
