Motorcyclists will be gathering once again this year to donate teddy bears to needy children on Long Island. Every year the Red Knights Motorcycle Club’s New York Chapter 26 holds its Teddy Bear Run to collect donations of new Teddy Bears for thousands of needy children in Brookhaven Town.
The Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau INTERFACE program is partnering with the Red Knights Motorcycle Club for the toy drive.
The run will take place on November 20.
Registration for the run begins at 10:30am at the Terryville Fire Department Station 3 located at 433 Canal Road in Port Jefferson Station. The ride kicks off at noon and ends with a special lunch at Painters’ Restaurant, 416 South Country Road in Brookhaven. Non-riders can meet at Painters’ for lunch at 1pm.
Participation fee for riders and passengers is $25 or $30 without a teddy bear. The first 100 riders receive a free t-shirt.
Anyone is welcome to drop off a donation at either the Terryville Fire Department Station 3 or Painters’ Restaurant. Click here for the event flyer or here for more information. Call the Red Knights at 631-905-9802, or email info@rkny26.com for event details and sponsor/vendor opportunities.
Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine thanked the club for their generosity and support.
“These contributions will make it possible for so many children in need to experience the joy of opening a gift this holiday season,” he said.
The Town of Brookhaven INTERFACE program provides a variety of goods and services to those in need through volunteerism and generous donations from our partners. The Town greatly appreciates the efforts of the volunteers and the generosity of Town residents who donate to all these worthy causes.
