Lakeview Home Extensively Damaged by Fire; Residents Treated at Local Hospital for Injuries, Smoke Inhalation

The Public Information Office reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 12:57 pm in Lakeview.
 
According to Police, Fifth Precinct Officers responded to a residential house fire on Rhodes Lane. Upon arrival, officers observed a working house fire. The Lakeview Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames. The house sustained extensive damage. 
 
Prior to police arrival, three adults ages 46, 26, 19 and a 6-year-old child drove themselves to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and minor injuries. A Nassau County Police Department Ambulance transported the home owner, age 72, to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. 
 
The Nassau County Fire Marshall and the Arson Bomb Squad responded to scene. The investigation is ongoing.
