AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT MONDAY The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam. from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The Air Quality Index, or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Farmingdale Bank Robbed; SCPD Currently Seeking Lone Suspect

A man entered TD Bank, approached a teller, and presented a note demanding cash, cops say.

SCPD are investigating a bank robbery in Farmingdale.

Farmingdale, NY - October 23, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Monday, October 22 in Farmingdale.
 
A man entered TD Bank, located at 2025 Broadhollow Road, at approximately 4:30 p.m., approached a teller and presented a note demanding cash.
 
The teller complied with the demand and gave the man cash from the drawer. The man fled the bank on foot and was last seen on a bicycle heading eastbound on Milbar Boulevard.
 
The man was described as black, approximately 40 years old, thin build with a scruffy beard, who was wearing tan or light brown cargo pants, a light colored sweatshirt and a blue baseball cap with the New York Giants logo on it.
 
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Major Case Unit detectives at 631-852-6555 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
