The Third Squad reports on the Arrest of two defendants for a Robbery that occurred on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 6:47 PM in Hempstead.
 
According to Detectives, three subjects did enter the Cricket Wireless Store located at 33 Main Street and stole multiple cell phones valued at approximately $9,000 US Currency before leaving the store and fleeing in an unknown direction.
 
Defendant’s Naire Johnson, 19, of 162 W. Marshall Street, Hempstead and Kamorie Edwards, 48, of 46 Eddy Road, Roosevelt were located a short time later by Third Squad Detectives near the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Franklin Street attempting to sell the stolen cell phones. They were both placed under arrest with the assistance of the Hempstead Police Department without further incident.
 
The third subject, that has not yet been apprehended, is described as an unknown female that was last seen wearing a black coat, a pink hat, grey pants and a mask. Detectives request anyone with information identifying this subject to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
 
Both defendants are charged with Robbery 2nd degree, Burglary 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree. They were both arraigned on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead. They were both Released on their Own Recognizance (ROR) and given a
court return date of October 28th , 2022.
