Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico has announced that the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau INTERFACE program will host the Red Knights Motorcycle Club New York Chapter 26 Teddy Bear Run on November 24.
Each year, the club holds this event to collect donations of new Teddy Bears for thousands of needy children in Brookhaven Town. Registration starts at 10:30 am at the Terryville Fire Department Station 1 located at 19 Jayne Blvd. in Port Jefferson.
The ride kicks off at 12:00 noon and ends with a special lunch at Painters’ Restaurant, 416 South Country Road in Brookhaven. Non-riders can meet at Painters’ for lunch at 1:00 pm. Riders and passenger’s participation fee is $25 or $30 without a teddy bear. The first 100 riders receive a free t-shirt.
Anyone is welcome to drop off a donation at either the Terryville Fire Department Station 1 or Painters'. Go to the Town website, call the Red Knights at 631-905-9802, or email info@rkny26.com for event details and sponsor/vendor opportunities.
The Teddy Bear Run will be held “Rain or Shine.” In the event of inclement weather, participants will forego the ride and bring their new Teddy Bear to Painters at 1pm
The Town of Brookhaven INTERFACE program provides a variety of goods and services to those in need through volunteerism and generous donations from our partners. The Town greatly appreciates the efforts of the volunteers and the generosity of Town residents who donate to all these worthy causes.
