Off-Duty NCPD Cop Nabs Massapequa Man Spray-Painting Graffiti in Wantagh

Wantagh, NY - October 25, 2017 - The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Massapequa man for Criminal Mischief that occurred in Wantagh on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 12:05 am.
 
According to detectives, an off duty Nassau County Police Bureau of Special Operation officer was in the vicinity of 8826 Wantagh Railroad station lot when he observed the defendant Christopher Hallick, 25, spray painting vulgar language on to cement pillars. The officer then identified himself as being a police officer to Hallick and with the assistance of the Seventh Precinct Police he was able to place him into police custody without incident. 
 
Further investigation revealed that the defendant Christopher Hallick was also responsible for spray painting numerous other pillars including a fence belonging to the MTA. Hallick was also in possession of a switchblade knife, and a white powdery substance believed to be Alprazolam.
 
Defendant Hallick is charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Making Graffiti, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
