KiDS NEED MoRE, a 501c3 non-profit organization that supports children coping with the trauma of serious illness, and other childhood interruptions, is excited to announce the kickoff of its Holiday Cheer Bus program on Sunday, October 29, from 10 AM - 12 PM at 600 Albany Ave., Amityville, NY.
The kickoff event will feature remarks from Babylon Town Supervisor Richard Schaffer, as well as the announcement of exciting elf missions and challenges for the upcoming holiday season. Attendees will also enjoy brunch and have the opportunity to learn more about how to get involved with the Cheer Bus program, which will culminate in the HoLiDAY CHEER BUS Elf Ride & scavenger hunt on December 17, 2023.
On December 17, thousands of volunteers dressed in festive gear will deliver gifts to children on the organization's NICE LIST. The Cheer Bus program brings the warmth of the holidays to children and families facing childhood cancer and other traumatic childhood interruptions.
John Ray, loving known as Johnny Jingles, a dedicated member of the KiDS NEED MoRE team, will be honored at the kickoff event for his outstanding service and dedication to the organization. Johnny supported operations of the organization when his wife became ill with leukemia. While he had other dreams, he put them on hold just like George Bailey did in It's a Wonderful Life, to to continue the good works of KiDS NEED MoRE - and found his good fortune in the love and care of friends. He is a true inspiration to us all, and we are grateful for his contributions.
Quote from Johnny Ray:
“The Cheer Bus program is a magical way to bring holiday cheer to children and families in need. Every year I am so inspired by the giving spirit of my friends and neighbors."
KiDS NEED MoRE is inviting members of the media to attend the kickoff event and learn more about this heartwarming program. To RSVP, please contact Melissa Mistletoe at 646-907-8473 or elf@kidsneedmore.org.
