AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Man Wanted for Stealing Energy Drinks from Shirley Rite Aide

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who stole energy drinks from a store last month.

Shirley, NY - October 27th, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who stole energy drinks from a store last month.

On September 29, 2014, at approximately 5 p.m., a man entered the Rite Aide store, located at 803 Montauk Highway in Shirley, and removed $198 worth of energy drinks from the display. He left the store without paying for the merchandise and fled on a bicycle westbound on Montauk Highway.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
