Village Officials Support 127th Annual Hempstead Public Schools Homecoming

Hempstead, NY - October 26, 2016 - Village of Hempstead Deputy Mayor Luis Figueroa, Trustees Waylyn Hobbs and Don Ryan and community members recently joined the Hempstead Union Free School District in celebrating its 127th annual Homecoming Parade.


Village of Hempstead elementary school students, 5—10 years old, perform a ‘Wizard of Oz’ themed dance. More than 300 students decorated floats, performed dances and marched to show school spirit and pride.  Students in the Village of Hempstead, Village officials and community members celebrate Hempstead Public School District’s homecoming parade with musical-themed floats and costumes.

Students from the District’s various elementary schools joined middle school and high school students in decorating floats, performing dances and marching to show their school spirit and pride. The theme of this year’s homecoming parade was musicals, and students created floats in the theme of ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ ‘Aladdin,’ ‘Grease’ and other Broadway productions.
