AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. The Missing Persons Squad is investigating a Missing Juvenile that occurred on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at approximately 12:30 p.m. in Hempstead.

Lakeisha Martin, 14, of Hempstead was last seen on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Nassau County Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.

Update - October 28, 2016 - The missing juvenile has been located.

Hempstead, NY - October 28, 2016 - The Missing Persons Squad is investigating a Missing Juvenile that occurred on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at approximately 12:30 p.m. in Hempstead.

According to detectives, Lakeisha Martin, 14, a female black, 5’ 5” tall, 135 lbs. wearing a black wig was last seen leaving her Hempstead home.  A possible destination is unknown. 

Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above listed juvenile contact Nassau County Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911.  All callers will remain anonymous.
