Long Island, NY - October 29, 2014 - The Suffolk County SPCA is reminding everyone that Wednesday October 29th is National Cat's Day.
Estimates reveal that there are approximately 4 million cats entering shelters every year with 1-2 million being euthanized. Often, cats are overlooked because they don't have jobs like dogs. But cats still lower blood pressure, offer unconditional love and companionship and alert their owners to danger.
The TNR (trap-neuter-release) effort is central to ensuring that feral cat colonies are healthy and do not spread disease and unwanted litters.
