Two Pedestrians, Husband and Wife, Killed In Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed two pedestrians, a husband and wife, in Ronkonkoma last night. 
 
Narciso and Maria Saravia were walking across Ocean Avenue from east to west between Express Drive North and Michigan Street when they were struck by a southbound 2007 Hyundai Elantra at approximately 6:55 p.m. 
 
Narciso Saravia, 60, of Central Islip, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. His wife, Maria Saravia, 59, of Central Islip was transported via Lakeland  rescue ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead. 
 
The driver of the Hyundai, was not injured.
 
The Hyundai was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
