Police: Franklin Square Man in Custody After Belting NCPD Officer in Face
Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a North Bellmore man for an Assault that occurred on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm in Franklin Square.
According to detectives, officers responded to Ginger Flower located at 727 Franklin Avenue for a customer disturbance. During the investigation, Saidmurodov Niyazov, 57, of 17 Davenport Place, punched an officer in the face causing substantial pain, swelling and redness. A struggle ensued. Niyazov was violent and combative while resisting arrest prior to being subdued and arrested.
The officer was treated at an area hospital.
Niyazov was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment and evaluation.
Defendant Niyazov is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest and Theft of Services. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
