Two Juveniles, Ages 15 and 17, Busted with Loaded Firearms During Hempstead Traffic Stop

The Third Squad reports on the arrest of two male juveniles for the Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 5:56 PM in Hempstead.
 
According to Detectives, a red Toyota Highlander was observed failing to utilize a turn signal while changing lanes near the intersection of Front Street and Clinton Street by Third Squad Detectives. A Vehicle and Traffic Law stop was conducted near the intersection of Front Street and Peninsula Boulevard. Six males were observed to be in the vehicle. 
 
While conducting the investigation, occupants in the back seat were observed making furtive movements and refusing verbal commands. Hempstead Police Officers responded and assisted in removing all six occupants from the vehicle. 
 
A loaded Polymer80 ghost gun and Taurus G2X 9mm were recovered from two of the occupants and both were placed under arrest without incident. 
 
The two male juveniles, ages 15 and 17, are both charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree. The 15-year-old defendant will be arraigned at Family Court and the 17-year old defendant will be arraigned at First District Court on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
