Cops: Levittown Traffic Stop Results in Arrests for Drugs, Illegal Firearm Possession

The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of two Bronx males for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance that occurred on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 3:02 PM in Levittown.
 
According to Detectives, Bureau of Special Operations (BSO) officers while on routine patrol observed a 2012 black Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on Flamingo Road with numerous equipment violations. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law Stop at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Gull Road. 
 
The occupants of the vehicle began to make furtive movements causing Officers to request the driver and passenger to exit the vehicle. 
 
During the investigation it was determined that the operator, Defendant Edson A. Meza Alvarez, 33, of 1406 Taylor Avenue was operating the motor vehicle with a suspended license and was in possession of a controlled substance. 
 
The passenger, Defendant Victor A. Martinez Gutierrez, 31, of 1834 Phelan Place was in possession of a controlled substance and a defaced grey 9MM Kimber semi-automatic loaded firearm. 
 
No injuries were reported. 
 
Defendant Edson A. Meza Alvarez is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was released on an Appearance Ticket returnable to First District Court on Monday, November 20, 2023. 
 
Defendant Victor A. Martinez Gutierrez is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
