On Monday October 30, 2023, just before 1:00 PM the New York State Police and New York State Park Police responded to a report of male human remains found at Sunken Meadow State Park in the town of Smithtown, Suffolk County.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Forensic Identification Unit (FIU) responded to the scene to investigate.
Pending examination by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office and further investigation by the State Police, all updates will be made on the New York State Police Newsroom.
