Police: Body Found at Sunken Meadow Park on Monday Has Been Identified, Case Being Investigated as a Homicide

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Yoneli Abimael Ramos Moreno of Brentwood.

Yoneli Abimael Ramos Moreno, 20, of Brentwood has been identified as the person whose body was discovered by park goers off a trail at the eastern end of Sunken Meadow State Park on Monday. Ramos-Moreno’s death is being investigated as a homicide and it has been established that his death occurred recently.

 

On October 30th just before 1pm New York State Police and New York State Park Police responded to a report of male human remains found at Sunken Meadow State Park. The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Forensic Identification Unit (FIU) responded to the scene to investigate.

 

This is an ongoing homicide investigation, and the State Police is asking for anyone with information to call (631) 756-3300. You may also call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers anonymously at (800) 220-TIPS. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward with information that leads to an arrest.
