The section of the Long Island Expressway located in Huntington is currently slated to be closed Friday evening, November 3, to allow road crews to work on a bridge renewal project, according to the NYS Department of Transportation.

The LIE's westbound lanes at Exit 49N will be closed Friday night into Saturday morning from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to that workers can preform a bridge deck renewal on the Round Swamp Road bridge, DOT officials say.

Motorist traveling during those hours could encounter delays, with the DOT noting that fines for speeding are doubled when doing so in a road work zone.
